Important information
What makes these "DIY?"
These roof racks are "DIY" in the sense that finishing is left up to you, the customer, to save on cost without compromise in material or construction.
We take care of the hard part; the technical design and manufacture of the precision parts, while the required parts to complete the rack are available as off the shelf components from various manufacturers.
Available as either raw steel or, in limited quantities, black powder coating, along with optional hardware, or simply a list of required hardware should you wish to purchase your own.
Crossbars are surprisingly expensive and inefficient for us here at RackLite Industries to purchase, ship, and/or supply. In many cases, even with potential purchase quantities in the hundreds, it's still cheaper for you to buy crossbars directly from TNutz than through us (see below).
Where should I get my crossbars?
We suggest purchasing crossbars from TNutz, requiring the following sizes:
- 1020 (1"x2") 48 inches long (4 to ∞)
- 1020 (1"x2") 48-3/8 inches long (wind fairing crossbar)
What materials are these racks made of?
The side rails are made from 3/16" A36 Hot Rolled Steel, and the wind fairing is made from 1/8" 6061 Aluminum. The spacers/gaskets are made from EPDM rubber.
When will I get my order?
Lead times can be up to 2 weeks depending on order volume. Only in-stock items are currently being sold in low quantities to avoid longer lead times. We will work quickly to get your package on the way as quickly as possible and appreciate the understanding.
Where are your products manufactured?
All of our roof racks are laser-cut, bent, and processed in Northern Utah.
How much does shipping cost?
Due to the "split" at the front of the roof rack, shipping costs are surprisingly low. Expect $40-$80 depending on location and proximity to Salt Lake City, Utah.
